Non-Profit Energy Alliance Helps Non-Profits Keep Green While Going Green
Hope Gleicher, Suzan Jenkins, Thuy Lee– Nonprofit Energy Alliance
Are you interested in saving money that can be used for your non-profit’s mission? Are funders asking what you are doing to protect our environment? Did you know you can do both at the same time? Sounds too good to be true, its not!
The NonProfit Energy Alliance, an award winning collaboration between Nonprofit Montgomery, the Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County and the Nonprofit Roundtable of Greater Washington, has just announced its most recent campaign to help non-profits purchase clean energy.
NPEA will be accepting applications until September 14 from organizations interested in purchasing clean energy, and each organization will receive no obligation pricing. Webinars are scheduled for August 24th and September 7th for anyone who has questions.
Since the beginning NPEA has helped over 60 nonprofits collectively save an estimated $511,000 while purchasing approximately 23 million kilowatt hours of domestic wind power.
In the words of a participant:
“Vesta is a nonprofit behavioral healthcare organization providing services to 2000 patients with mental illness. Through the Energy Alliance we will save $20,000 per year on our energy costs, increase awareness among our employees and patients, reduce impact on the environment and feel good at the same time. The Nonprofit Energy Alliance has been a great partner and the entire process of negotiation and transition was smooth.” – Jignesh Dalal, CEO, Vesta, Inc.
